What services can I expect from a Monumental Mason?
1. Greet and meet the relatives to discuss the individual needs
for the gravestone. The discussion can be about what material
the gravestone should be made out of and taking information
about what the customers would like on the gravestone.
2. planning out the measurements of the specific text or style
on the gravestones.
3. Create a designed image of what the gravestone would look
like to the client and then make any changes or modifications so
that the client is 100% happy.
4. Sandblasting takes place once the clients are happy
and then the mason will paint or gild the areas that have
been cut out.
5. chiseling the letters then takes place.
6. Moulding and making the monuments is usually next
along with plastering. After this is complete it is ready
to be placed.
7. Cleaning and making sure everything is in place and ready.
This is a simple routine that many monumental masons use.
